Why Venezuela Field Support

Six things that determine whether a Venezuela engagement produces a usable answer.

Direct Answer

The short version

Venezuela Field Support is a U.S.-led firm that verifies conditions in Venezuela on the ground and then helps clients act on what it finds.

Most providers in this space do one of two things: they produce analysis without field capability, or they provide field services without the judgment to turn observations into decision-relevant findings. Venezuela Field Support is built to do both, at a single point of accountability, with a founder who can personally deploy when the engagement calls for it. It is independent by design: it takes no position in the transactions it assesses, and its findings are not shaped to support a preferred conclusion.

01

Field-First

We seek information where the decision requires it. When a question can only be answered by observing a place or an organization, we go and observe it rather than reasoning about it from a distance. Desk research is used to make field time count, not to substitute for it.

02

In-Country Capability

Trusted relationships inside Venezuela allow practical verification and support — driving, transportation coordination, site observation, photography, documentation, route checks, local coordination, vendor verification, and facility observation. Clients can answer specific questions without deploying a corporate team.

03

Senior-Led

Founder Cole Herring can personally lead critical engagements and deploy in-country when senior-level field involvement is warranted. Engagement scopes state explicitly who will be doing the work, so nobody is sold a principal and delivered a junior.

04

Built on Working Through Partners

The defining skill of the founder’s 21-year Special Forces career, primarily in Latin America, was achieving objectives through local partners — judging capability fast, building trust, and verifying what you are told. That is precisely the problem a company faces when its schedule and its people depend on a Venezuelan contractor it has never met.

05

Execution Oriented

We can remain involved beyond the assessment. Where a client proceeds, the same firm that identified the dependencies can support planning, entry, mobilization, in-country operations, and ongoing life support — so what was learned during verification is not lost at a handover.

06

Independent

Our job is to determine what is actually true, not validate a preferred conclusion. Venezuela Field Support takes no position in the transactions it assesses and declines arrangements that would compromise a finding. An inconvenient answer is still delivered.

In Context

Where Venezuela Field Support sits

Different providers answer different questions. The table below is about fit, not about who is better.

Venezuela Field Support routinely works alongside the other provider types above rather than in place of them.

What This Means in Practice

The test we hold ourselves to

A finding is only useful if the reader can act on it and defend it.

  • Every finding says whether it was observed, inferred, or reported
  • Every report states what could not be established, and why
  • Every field observation is dated and attributable to a method
  • Every claim about a counterparty is tied to what tested it
  • Every recommendation traces back to the decision it supports
  • Nothing is presented with more confidence than the evidence supports
Honest Limits

What we will tell you we cannot do

We are not a law or compliance firm

Venezuela Field Support does not provide legal, tax, sanctions, export-control, or investment advice. Those questions go to qualified counsel, with whom we coordinate operationally.

We are not an engineering firm

We document observable condition. Structural, mechanical, electrical, and environmental determinations require appropriately qualified engineers, who can be coordinated.

We are not a security company

We do not provide armed services, protective details, guard forces, or military or paramilitary services of any kind. Security risk is assessed as one component of operating successfully.

We don’t stop at telling you what the risks are.

We help you operate through them. Start with the decision in front of you.
