About

Built to Reduce Uncertainty.

Corporations already have information. What they often lack is independent verification and execution capability on the ground. Venezuela Field Support fills that gap.

Why We Exist

The information-to-execution gap

Companies evaluating Venezuela can obtain legal opinions, sanctions analysis, market reports, engineering studies, industry intelligence, government briefings, and financial models.

What they usually cannot obtain is an answer to the practical questions those documents rest on. Is the facility actually operational? What condition is the infrastructure really in? Is the road on the map passable? Can heavy equipment reach the site? Does the warehouse exist? Does the vendor own the equipment it says it owns? Is power reliable? What is the real travel time? How would an employee be evacuated? Who actually controls a prospective local partner?

Those questions cannot be answered reliably from a conference room in Houston, Miami, New York, London, or Washington. They are answered by someone competent standing in the place in question.

Venezuela Field Support exists to answer them — and then, where the client proceeds, to help execute.

Founder

Experience Built in Complex Environments

Venezuela Field Support was founded by Cole Herring following more than 21 years in U.S. Army Special Forces, primarily with 7th Special Forces Group (Airborne), whose regional focus includes Latin America.

His career included extensive experience supporting operations and senior engagements throughout South America, three combat deployments, and receipt of the Purple Heart.

That experience shaped the operating philosophy behind Venezuela Field Support: understand the environment, verify assumptions, assess partners, prepare for contingencies, and execute with discipline. Today, those principles are applied to helping companies evaluate opportunities, reduce uncertainty, and operate effectively in Venezuela.

When an engagement requires senior-level field involvement, Cole can deploy in-country to lead assessments and support client operations.

In-Country Capability

Real In-Country Capability

Venezuela Field Support maintains trusted relationships with individuals inside Venezuela who can support legitimate field verification, transportation, photography, local coordination, route checks, facility observation, vendor verification, and other practical information requirements.

This allows clients to answer specific operational questions without automatically deploying an entire corporate team.

When engagements require senior-level involvement, Venezuela Field Support founder Cole Herring can deploy personally to lead assessments, coordinate field activity, and support client operations.

What we do not claim

Venezuela Field Support states its capability accurately, because a client who relies on an overstatement is worse off than one who was told the truth.

  • No nationwide permanent employees
  • No offices that do not exist
  • No government or intelligence-agency access
  • No armed teams or security forces
  • No exclusive government relationships
  • No contracts or clients that do not exist
  • No endorsement by any government or company
How We Work

From Question to Ground Truth

01

Define the Decision

We identify the decision your organization needs to make.

02

Identify the Assumptions

We determine which facts, dependencies, or capabilities must be verified.

03

Collect & Verify

Field resources, research, interviews, documentation, and qualified specialists are used as appropriate.

04

Assess

Information is analyzed and converted into decision-relevant findings.

05

Recommend

Leadership receives clear findings, risks, outstanding information requirements, and recommended actions.

06

Support Execution

When required, Venezuela Field Support remains engaged through planning, entry, mobilization, and operations.

Operating Principles

How we work, and what we will not do

Truth Over Assumption

Our job is to determine what is actually true, not to validate a preferred conclusion. Findings that are inconvenient are still reported.

Independence

We do not take positions in the transactions we assess and we do not accept arrangements that would compromise a finding.

Preparation

Most failures in complex environments are preparation failures. We front-load the work that prevents them.

Discretion

Client engagements, identities, and findings are confidential. We do not use client names as marketing.

Accountability

We state what we did, what we observed, what we could not establish, and who did the work.

Lawful Operations

All engagements are conducted lawfully. We decline work that cannot be.

Client mission first. Venezuela Field Support exists to help clients make decisions and operate effectively. Practical, field-driven, focused on getting clients what they need — anything, anywhere, anytime; lo que sea, cuando sea, donde sea.

Know Before You Commit.

Start with the decision you need to make. We will tell you what has to be verified before you can make it.
